East Indian Lemongrass can be used as a substitute for the classic Thai Lemongrass for culinary purposes. Grows to 20- 30cm in height. Grow as tender perennial.

Lemongrass is widely used as a culinary herb in Asian cuisine and also as medicinal herb in India. It has a subtle citrus flavor and can be dried and powdered, or used fresh. It is commonly used in teas, soups, and curries. It is also suitable for use with poultry, fish, beef, and seafood.

Lemongrass essential oil is produced by steam distillation of the freshly cut leaves, or can be extracted using alcohol. It is believed to help with stress-related disorders, and has been shown to have antifungal and antimicrobial properties. Cymbopogon flexuosus completely inhibits all MRSA colony growth.
