Acanthus mollis is a great groundcover perennial plant, loved by insect wildlife.

Stately columns of white/purple flowers in July & August, 90-120cm tall.

Sow Bear's Breeches from March to May. Acanthus germinates in 5 weeks at 18-20C, flowering in 2nd year.

Spread 90cm. Acanthus spreads to form broad clumps.

Sensitive to humidity, prefers  moist humus-rich soil in shade or partial shade.
